2 Piece articulated driftwood sculpture for crafting. All natural, light colored and light weight wood. Measures: 11-1/2 inches long X 5-1/2 inches wide and is about 3-1/2 inches thick (deep). There are two separate pieces. They are held together with a screw that allows the two pieces to be moved or slightly rotated; as shown in the pictures.
Likely made in the 1960s.
The bottom piece is a rectangle with smooth, rounded and uneven edges. The top piece has more "sculpture" to it. I hope you can tell from the pictures that it is irregular in shape. There are points at the top. The smooth bulge at the bottom has more depth, irregular lines and indentations.
Natural colors and grain are light in color. A great piece for flower arranging at a competitive level. Perfect for fairy gardens. These were popular in the 60s for use as a base for decorative projects like, candle holders, sculpture and nature scene bases.
Do your own DIY project, updated with fresh imagination.
Of particular interest to those of you who collect natural wood component pieces, OR, are an artist who creates one of a kind sculptures, or Fairy Garden pieces. This is a terrific example. Lots of pictures so you can see views from all sides, top and bottom.
I have more examples of unusual, artistic wood sculptures in the shop.
