Rare Coro Pegasus Brooch Fleur de Lis Draped Chain. Note: glare shows as light spots on the shiny surface. No damage. All chains are attached and drape beautifully.
This beauty measures 4 inches tall and is 2-1/4 inches wide. Fabulous example of late 1940s Coro costume jewelry. Exceptional vintage brooch. Dramatic size and in above excellent vintage condition. The front shows glare on the very shiny surface. It is smooth and perfect.
Gold tone metal brooch is set with faux sapphires, rubies, pearls and emeralds. Fluid gold tone chain is draped on either side and meet in the bottom center with a metal chain tassel.
Back marked with the Pegasus Coro plague. Strong pin mechanism works perfectly.
I do not use the term rare very often. This is a very hard to find piece. I date this piece to about 1948. I could not find it in the Coro patent list. It either has not been documented or I spent 2 hours trying and failed to find it.
Rare and very dramatic from my own collection of designer jewelry.
Minor wear to one faux sapphire cab and to the top most links of the draped chain where it is attached to the brooch. Gorgeous brooch.
