Vintage hat pin, dated 1978 by MEI FA with bead top and gold plated findings measures 5-3/4 inches long; Edwardian revival. In mint condition with gorgeous glass beads, straight, strong pin and nib that holds perfectly.
The highlight bead is black glass with an elaborately embossed surface with an Asian design. Gold paint highlights the design. Accent beads are black glass. The base, upon which the beads sit is gold plated and is signed: copyright symbol and, MEI FA, USA, 1978 and a trademark symbol. The shaft is strong, spring steel. It fits snugly into the gold nib.
Inspired by designs from the Edwardian Era, this revival by MEI FA from the 1970s, is very collectible. Examples are now very hard to find.
