Antique guest town with intricate drawn work, satin stitched embroidery and long hand knotted fringe circa 1900 in 100% natural linen, Measurements in inches: 30 inches long X 14-1/2 inches wide. In mint, unused condition.
In natural, oatmeal colored linen is unused. The long towel has intricate hand work at one end. An open work, pulled thread medallion presents as a screen. It is surrounded by floral and dot embroidery in a satin stitch. Accent lines are done in a straight stitch in the same thread, which is just a shade darker than the towel itself.
One end of the towel has pulled threads that are then knotted and fall in a long fringe.
This fabric, being a natural linen is firm with just a very, very slight texture.
It is clean and in mint condition,
This is one amazing piece from an estate of a mother and daughter team who collected textiles for decades. Please see my other listings for more fabric, lace, household linens and quilting items. The collection spans 100 years.
