1940s - 1950s Cotton Sewing Fabric; a vivid plaid in black, turquoise, gray and green. In the first picture the upper part of the fabric looks brown. The black is VERY black. Not brown.
This continuous length measures 3 yards plus 23 inches long and 36 inches from finished selvedge to selvedge. This is an amazing textile, in mint condition,
The plaid design is dramatically presented in these vivid colors. Dress length and an ideal fabric for a gathered skirt.
The cotton material has a smooth finish and excellent thread count. It pleats and gathers beautifully. Not a good choice for draping. Medium weight and nicely crisp. A wonderful vintage textile.
Note: This fabric is shown draped on my mannequin. It is not a finished garment. It is shown pinned to the display so you can see how it drapes and falls.
This gorgeous material is part of huge collection of ribbon, lace, linens and all things textile. See my other listings for MORE of this collection that spans 100 years.
