Great, old sterling silver swimming medal. Approximately 3 inches tall (including the ribbon) and 1 1/4 inches wide. Neptune (god of the sea and freshwater) is stamped on the front with a seahorse on either side. The letters H.P.B.C. (Hewlett Point Beach Club (New York)) are embossed along the top and in a small, enamel shield below. Engraved on the back: 1935 BOYS 100YD. FREESTY. Marked: NATL ENSIGNIA, NY MFC CO, STERLING. Nice, heavy weight. In the original box with a newspaper clipping from that day with all the results of the swim meet. The box has wear consistent with age, but the medal is in excellent, original condition.
