wistful portrait of a young Breton woman in traditional dress dating to the 1920’s.
Barrière-Prévost was a pupil of artist L. Roger and exhibited regularly in Paris during the 1920s, both at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Société Coloniale des Artistes Français. In later life she settled in Morocco then a French colony exhibiting with the Casbah Group and Salon des Tuilleries.
In good sound original condition, nicely presented in a hand finished frame. The frame is a little gappy at the corners and there is a crack on the bottom edge.
