Roger LERSY (1920-2004) French Abstract Expressionist. Cyclist
An impressive early work by the French abstract expressionist painter Roger Lersy. Painted in oil onto canvas, signed and dated 1950.
Lersy studied at the School of Applied Arts and at the Paris Conservatoire where he was a member of the “Young Painters” movement. His reputation was secured when the Museum of Modern Art in Paris acquired one of his paintings. Lersy explored Abstract Expressionism whilst living in New York.
Purchased at auction in France, copy invoice available to purchaser.
