You are bidding on a vintage (possibly antique) oil painting of an Ashkenazi Jewish rabbi with a snowy-white beard, wearing a yarmulke and talit. The painting is signed “W. Topman”.
From research, there appears to have been a small family of Jewish artists from the Netherlands; most prominent in the mid 20th Century. An “E. W. Topman” From the look of it, he belonged to the same school as Erwin and Otto Eichinger; especially with respect to his preferred subject matter and technique of very fine brush strokes.
