Fine Early 19th-Century Dutch hand made bucket with brass liner. Hand made of fruit wood and ebony, it makes a lovely jardiniere or wine cooler. Alternatively, it could be used for firewood (without the brass liner) or a catchall for magazines, toys, etc. Handle upright adds 6" to height. These antique buckets were tea buckets originally, used for keeping tea kettles warm, as a brazier containing a bed of smoldering charcoal within the brass liner, over which a tea kettle was kept. In Dutch they are called Teestoof.
Dimensions: 11.25 Diameter X 12" Height, with handle extended, 18" Height.
