A 19th-Century English School oil painting on panel of 2 recumbent sporting dogs, one appears to be a Gordon setter. The artist has portrayed the dogs with wonderful sensitivity and expertly captured their attentive expressions. The dog's coats and quite regal appearance are beautifully rendered as they await their owner's command. The painting was probably a commission by the owner.
