A late 18th-Century to early 19th-Century Scandinavian Nordic pine steamed bentwood box with hand painted early rosemaling decoration. This folk art box is all hand made and retains the original paint decoration - lovely geometric and floral and foliate designs. The paint is reddish brown in color, it has softened over the last 200+ years. It also retains the original paper liner This box is most likely Norwegian in origin. The lid fits nice and snugly. It would be a fine addition to a collection of Scandinavian boxes!

Dimensions: 12.5"L x 5.25"W x 4.5"H

Condition: Very good antique condition with light wear consistent with age and use; slight loss to the top of lid
