A framed collection of antique red wax seals, also called intaglios, a pair. These are beautiful antique and historical wax seals that were found in an circa 1800 French journal. The seals are composed of the many symbols of France including: Marianne, an important female figure representing 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternity', the Coq Gaulois, the Gallic rooster that decorated flags during the revolution, various lion symbols, crests, swords, torches, the fleur de lis, the flower of the lily that represents royalty, and shields. They have archival framing and are mounted on linen mats. Another pair is available.
Dimensions: 21.25" Height x 15.25" Width
Condition: Note: Camera glare on the left one in the first image- it's just the light. The seals are in very good antique condition, with light wear as expected. They are mounted on linen in archival framing, newly and professionally custom framed.
