An 18th-Century Dutch Delft faience plate. It is hand painted in cobalt blue and white with a 'peacock' design - a vase filled full of flowers surrounded by a beautiful geometric and stylized floral border with an orange / yellow edge. This pattern is sought after and very collectible. The maker's mark is on the reverse, called The Claw " (de Klaauw) is meant to indicate the claw of a bird.
