A circa 1930, Art Deco gold leaf convex bull's eye mirror from England. It is a Regency Georgian style mirror and has 20 decorative spheres around the frame along with a decorative geometric design. It retains the original convex mirror and backing. These mirrors are wonderful because they reflect a much larger area that a flat mirror reflects. They were often used in a dining room and the large reflection allowed the hostess to keep an eye on the progress of diners and also to signal the footmen as courses changed. Of course, they work to 'bounce' the light around a room and seem to magnify the space so that it appears larger. They are equally at home in a contemporary modern design or a traditional one.
