A circa 1900, English Victorian era genuine horse hoof equestrian match striker with silver mounts. The top opens to reveal a well inside for holding matches and the striker is under the lid. The silver is worn and has a lovely soft patina and color. It is a wonderful bar or desk accessory. This unique item was probably from a beloved race horse, and is a rare survivor of era of taxidermy and mounting specimens.
Condition: Very good, light wear consistent with age and use, silver is worn.
