A pair of late 18th-Century English elm youth / child chairs. These lovely ladder back chairs are from Suffolk, an East Anglican county of historic origin. They have fine hand turned stretchers, carved aprons and curved slat backs, characteristic of country furniture. They are sculptural in design and delightfully comfortable as well. Solid and sturdy, they are perfect for a desk or placed around a fireplace.
Dimensions: 18" Width x 13" Depth x 36" Height; Seat Height, 17.5"
Condition: Very good antique condition; original patina and surface, light wear. I have some cushions for the chairs I am offering at no charge. They are stained on the bottom, but can be used as a pattern for new ones.
