19th-century English handmade papier-mâché box with a scalloped bottom edge. Hand-painted and gilded throughout with mother-of-pearl and abalone inlay. This pretty box has been lined with marbled paper from the period. Made by bespoke maker, Jennens & Bettridge, London, maker's to Her Majesty Queen Victoria. It is perfect for keepsakes and letters.
