A 19th-Century Victorian era papier mache, wood and inlay mother of pearl box. It is covered on all sides with delicately inlaid sprays of mother of pearl and abalone flowers and foliage. The lid slides down over and covers the bottom portion of the box. We have never seen a box of this design before - it is quite unusual. It is nice and long, perfect for gloves, jewelry or pens and pencils. It would be lovely on a desk or vanity.
