Bone Parasol Umbrella Stanhope Sewing Needle Case in extremely fine and cherished condition shows a single view which reads "I LOVE YOU". The text appears to be hand-written and there are hand drawn hearts surrounding the text. It was made in Victorian era France circa 1890 and very clean mint condition. The handle unscrews from the hollow umbrella to hold and access the needles. The stanhope is housed in the ball shaped handle grip and it is easy to read but a little bit light from a contrast point of view. It looks like a small portion of the letter "e" may have faded away or perhaps it was a flaw in the original photo emulsion. It's a unique piece and we've never encountered this image in any other piece. Another unique feature is the lack of grooves in a portion of the umbrella. This area looks like it was left for custom engraving which was never engraved. Actually, it would make a great gift for someone you would like to tell "I Love You" today.
