This an original iconic “Bottoms Up” tumbler for sale, which was produced in the 1930's by the McKee Glass Company of Jeanette, Pennsylvania. This drinking vessel features a female nude figure with closed legs draped over the base... hence the name “Bottoms Up”. McKee called their version of opaque green Skokie Green, although most collectors today refer to it as “Jadeite”.
This tumbler is an original as it bears the patent number 77725 which appears under the nude’s heels. Reproduction tumblers are easily identified because they do not have the patent number. The tumbler is in perfect condition and measures 3 ¼” tall with a diameter of 2 3/8”.
Included for free with this tumbler is a black ceramic base which holds the tumble upright. This was apparently custom-made by a company other than McKee. This ceramic base was evidently broken at some point and then repaired but it still is fine for display purposes. And again, we are including it for free.
