A lovely vase, in a form sometimes referred to as an “aquarium vase“, this piece possesses both an etch (#738) and an internal vertical optic pattern. This particular vase is 8” tall, a curiosity in that all of the catalog references we have found show this form as either 6.5” or 9.5” tall. The etching itself is an alternating pattern of wreaths and floral urns and the scale is perfect for the vase. It probably dates to the 1930 – 1939 time period and appears in the catalogs as either Item #1005 or #787. There is a tiny ‘stone’ or inclusion, about the size of a pin head, located in the lower third of vase hidden within the optic pattern. It is part of the making of the vase and not readily visible, but is noted for accuracy of the description.
