Offered for sale is a striking Azurite console set with sponged silver decoration. Made by Cambridge Glass Co. in the 1920's, the bowl retains a rare original Azurite label that lists the item number, color, and decoration. The candle sticks have a hexagonal base and measure 8.5" high. The Cambridge item number for these is No. 71 or No. 200/6, depending which catalog you reference. The bowl measures 8.5" in diameter and stands 2.5" high. It is illustrated as item No. 15 on page 4 of the 1927/29 Cambridge catalog reprint, although the label on the bottom identifies it as item No. 65. Cambridge was known for renaming certain popular lines and items over the years.
Both the bowl and sticks are in great vintage condition with no nicks or dings. There is minor loss of silver on the candle stick edges and on the hairline trim of the bowl commensurate with age and use, but otherwise no condition issues. This is a wonderful set and the silver will polish up nicely... we have left it a bit tarnished here so that it will show up better in the photos.
