This spectacular choker of 9 strands, a cultured fresh water Biwa pearl necklace, bold and outstanding, strung by a 14 KT pink gold and diamond clasp, stamped.
The vintage clasp, looks familiar-design-to-many style, with an old-type push-in tongue for closer, and a security lock. The great point of the necklace is that such fine pearls in free form side drilled, more pearls, natural mauve color, very rare color or pink easier for many people, but lot more characteristics than just pink... with lots of iridescent and high luster, lightly seashell colors overtones. Genuine cultured Biwa Pearls, size of 6 mm, well matched. Generously each strand double hand-knotted individually. Total 9 strands, necklace measures 20 inch length.
Let all the pearl strands lay themselves loose and freely on the neck when wearing, it's a powerful necklace with its pretty good weight and size. Spectacular piece, bold and mesmerizing not only create a striking proportion, but lovely sea hue brings out the best of pearlish charm. Add it to pearl collections for a pearl lover, for sure! Necklace from the early '70s, restrung in excellent condition, old stock inventory, attached tag.
