This glorious mid 20th century Scottish engraved bracelet features fourteen half circle shaped glass agates. The various colours imitate the agate gems from lovely banded mint green to banded white/brown tones and alternating with the carnelian colours of rustic red/orange tones and the bloodstone colours of deep green. Each link measures 19mm x 20mm and is patterned with a pretty hand- engraving. Tongue clasp and safety chain connected for extra security.
On the reverse of one link there is full hallmarks for Ward Brothers 'WBs' (maker), Glasgow town mark (St Mungo), followed by the lion rampant, the thistle for Scotland and lastly the fancy letter 'e' (year 1953). Every other link is stamped with the lion rampant. Tongue connection and safety chain connected for extra security.

The Ward Brothers:
The Ward Brothers produced sterling silver jewellery from the nineteenth century and were originally based in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Moving to Birmingham to increase production, this company produced Scottish designs with with gems. Marked with the Ward Brothers Birmingham, Edinburgh or Glasgow assay hall mark or if under 7 grams in weight they were marked "sterling/silver and WBs" sometimes with a year mark. The Ward Brother's designs were acquired by Miracle and are still produced.
