A sweet chatelaine purse or mini bag from around the turn of the 20th century. It is stamped 'EPNS' ( standing for Electro Plated Nickel Silver), stamp placed to bother sides of inner frame. The exterior to one side bears the initials "EE" hand engraved in fancy script, opposite side is plain. An embossed pattern decorates frame to front & back, two spheres are placed on top which securely closes purse with a click. The overall shape of purse is lovely. Chain attached to top.
Enclosed reveals a fully lined three compartment interior, it is lined with a woven cotton like fabric, which appears to have faded to a light navy blue in colour. It is all intact with no tears, just some loose thread and light marks. The exterior has some small dings to front and surface marks consistent with age.
Purse measures 4 1/4 across bottom and height 3" inches.
