These Albertina's were originally made to wear with pocket watches in the Victorian times (c 1880-90's), but today can be worn as a bracelet (this one will need lengthening!), attachment to necklace or as the original purpose. This Albertina is a little short to be worn as a bracelet, measuring 13cm or 5" long including charm. This Albertina is not marked but tests 9ct gold slider, ends and charm, with the foxtail chain testing as 14ct gold (XRF tested), swivel or dog clip clasp is not gold.
The 14ct double foxtail chain has a beautiful lithe feel, it measures 7.5cm long and has a thickness 1.6mm each. The lovely ornate 9ct gold slide features the hard to find green gold along with rose and yellow gold. Attached to one end is an unusual 9ct gold charm in the design of a detailed jockey's cap sitting on a horseshoe - the colour is a rose and yellow gold (more than likely a yellow wash/gilding). There is a gap in-between the jockey's cap and horseshoe which we're surmising a ribbon or fabric of some sort may have been threaded through. Attached to other end is a swivel (or dog clip clasp!)
