Ref., The Little Book Of Mexican Silver Trade And Hallmarks Third Edition by Bille Hougart
Los Ballesteros. Talleres de Los Ballesteros was established in the family’s home town of Iguala in 1937 by Jalil Majul Ballesteros. The family business moved to Taxco in about 1941 and grew to be a large and successful manufacturer and retailer. Most of the items marked Los Ballesteros are made by independent silversmiths operating off-site. The famous focal point of the Ballesteros hallmark, a large letter “B” became more elaborate over time. Los Ballesteros pieces are often stamped with an inventory or a design number. Some early items are marked Iguala. Marks: TALLER DE LOS BALLESTEROS; B (stylized). Eagle number: 12, 13, 17, 20, 42, 47. Registration number: MM-34
