Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti (ca. 1910-1999). Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti was an accomplished designer and producer of jewelry and decorative accessories. Her work is instantly recognized by her trade name “Victoria.” She was the owner of Plateria Victoria S.A. established in 1940 at Plazuela Bernal No.6, Taxco. A copy of one of her jewelry box lids is shown above. Ana Brilanti is also remembered for her designs combining silver and copper. Her “married metal” line is a superb example of the result of years of research and refinement of techniques. In 1958, Brilanti opened another store in Taxco, Cony, named after her daughter. Brilanti’s son Jose, and grandsons Jose and Rafael, continue to produce quality pieces in the “Victoria” tradition using the trade names Cony (after 1958) or Brilanti (and, after 1980, usually TS-64). See also Joyeria Brilanti. Marks: VICTORIA; Brilanti or Cony (script). Eagle Number: 12. Registration Number: TS-64. Cony (script), after her daughter.
