WHat can I say? Mint? Museum Quality? Provenance? All Original? Outstanding?WOW! All these apply to this super set of knickerbocker characters from the 1930's. You will never find this set again. In all the world there is only one set like this. Dagwood stands 14" tall. Remarkable one of a kind molding of these iconic comic characters.Made from composition, marked on their necks( Daisy is not marked). Daisy is made of a wonderful deep yellow mohair.Purchased at the estate auction of JANE WITHERS, in 2004. Each of these guys come with their certificate of authenticity signed by JANE. Both human figures are mint, with original tags.( Dagwood has very very minor scratch to hair.) Dagwood is dressed in his black suit and a print shirt and tie. baby Dumpling is in a one piece romper with his trademark buttons. Daisy has no tag, some wear to collar and mohair, but oh so rare so this can well be forgiven. Just look at that face! And those ears!I have actually only seen Daisy one other time! They all stand well on their own. Must keep together because of provenance. I collected avidly many rare comic characters and my standards were strict. These were the highlight of my collection. Please view Jan Foulks Guide to dolls , 2006 edition, page 281 for value information. Non smoking home, displayed behind glass. FREE SHIPPING in the US. I welcome questions!.Thanks
