Heritagem presents :

This fabulous pendant features two spectaculars items : an oval cone shaped pendant adorned with an other dangling pear cone shaped pendant. The two are set with bright and sparkling rose cut garnet. The overall have been handcrafted during the Victorian era. It is foiled back and the brooch system was removed in order to wear it as a pendant.

Garnets were very trendy and most of them were found in the Bohemian mines. An article in the "Journal of the Society of the Arts" August 25, 1892, states that at that time, there were over 3000 cutters working in 500 shops in the Bohemian garnet industry. The garnet are known to adorned the dresses of Russian tsarinas and the Bohemian costumes.

This pendant is made in silver and it weighs 17,8gr. It measures 63,1 /2,4 x 38,4 / 1,5 x 17,5 mm / inches. it is in very good condition. I wear it with a black necklace but i could perfectly fit on silver chain or a ribbon.

Garnet symbolizes energy and courage. If you are an antique jewelry antique, this one is a must have in your jewelry box !
