Heritagem presents :
This fabulous medal is unique ! It was designed by the famous artist Paul Brandt at the beginning of the 20th century. He worked for Les Freres Lacloche and Boucheron as an engraver. You will find his biography on this book : "Bijou Art déco et avant-garde", Les Arts décoratifs; Norma Editions, 2009, p. 104-111
This medal is of the highest quality. It represents the saint patron of the travelers : St Christopher carrying the infant Jesus on his shoulders. They are crossing the river. They are inside a cross pattern and surrounded with the 12 symboles of the zodiac : we can easily recognize the ram, the fish, the scorpio, the aquarius etc... The back of the medal features a vintage car, probably a Rolls Royce (recognizable by the front of the car : the draped woman ) A verse is legible : Regarde st Christophe et Va t en rassure / Look St Christophe and go reassured
The medal weighs 3,8gr and measures 27,6 (1')x 20,3 (0,8) (the bale is included). It is in very good condition. We can see the eagle's head and the maker's mark : J / a balance / S for Stab a French jeweler based in Nice.
