This unique French ring was made by Augis. It weighs 7,7gr and measures 20,9x 18,3x 16,1 mm 0,8'x0,7 x 0,6''. The ring features the famous French verse " + qu'hier - que demain" . The rim was nicely engraved with flowing lines. The plus is set with a diamond and the minus with 2 rectangular synthetic rubies. The ring is signed A.AUGIS on the left.
It is wrote in French: " + qu'hier - que demain ": "I love you more than I did yesterday and less than I will tomorrow.”
The French saying comes from the verse of the poem wrote by Mrs Rosemonde Gerard to her lover and husband: Edmond Rostand, the famous French writer of Cyrano de Bergerac, a dramatic love play. Alphonse Augis, a French jeweler's from Lyon, made a love medallion with this verse written on it. The maker's mark is legible on the ring band next next to the French eagle's head. I wear it on my pinky ring but it could be easily resize for the ring finger, feel free to ask we will be happy to do it for you :)
