These beautiful cufflinks are unique. They are set with 4 synthetic Verneuil sapphires, cabochon cut, on 18kt white gold. The Verneuil corumdum was created in the 1830's and the blue synthetic verneuil was commercialized at the very beginning of the 20th century. Those ones quickly became populars for the middle class, and were considerate as a good and a cheapest alternative to the natural sapphires, especially during the Great War and after. We can recognized them thank to the curved strias. These cufflinks were made around 1925/1930 during the Art Deco period. They are in their genuine leather box, stamped with : DEBACQ PEYRET & CIE 105 Bº SEBASTOPOL PARIS. Its weight 13,6 gr (3,7gr each + 0,7gr for the link). Each hinge was controlled with the eagle's head, the French mark for 18kt gold. The synthetic sapphires have a beautiful deep navy blue color, it will match with every shirt. It provides elegance and style.
