Those wonderful and refined earrings are made in 18kt yellow gold and was enamalled. The design reveals a very meticulous work of gold engraving. It is of the highest quality due to this very fine detail of the etching work. The painting colored touch of the enamel make them very unique and enchanting. It features two lovely blue and red flowers with green leaves. The center is surrounded by a blue enamel circle. They are completely original and very characteristic to the period, c.1880. You can wear it thanks to a front latching hooks. The French control mark for 18kt gold featuring a horse's head, used in France between 1838 and 1911. It was also gold tested. We have recognized the makers' mark : it is represented by : a G a lizard and a C. This mark belongs to French jewelers' family GAGNEUR ET COMBET, settled in Lyon during 1865 to 1913. The mark was appended in 1875. It is very rare nowadays to find signed jewels.
They weigh 2,7 gr and are very easy to wear. It measures 23,53x 15,21 x 14 mm. (0,9 x 0,6 x 0,5 inches). We call it Dormeuses because women used to sleep with them how they are delightful to wear. It provides elegance and grace. You will love it. They are just ravishing and unique !
