AN ATTRACTIVE PAINTED 19th CENTURY SPA WORK PIN CUSHION
The name 'Spa' comes from a town in Belgium called Spa which became famous for its curative waters. It is also well known for its painted sewing tools. They are easy to recognize as they always have painted floral motifs decorating a wooden surface.
The barrel form wooden pincushion we have here has a painted floral motif to the front. The velvet top pincushion is in good condition as is the remainder of the pincushion. It measures 2.75" wide and 2.5" high, including the pincushion.
A very pretty and useful sewing tool for your workbox.
