A Really Delightful Late Regency/Early Victorian Maple Jewellery/Keepsake Box
This little antique maple box is a real delight. It was made from pretty Maple wood around 1830 and has push button opening. There
is a mother of pearl oval decoration to the shaped lid. In shape the little box is typically Regency in design and measures - 5.25" x
3.5" x 1.5/8" deep.
Inside the little box has, what looks to be, the original mirror under the lid with piping around the edge. The bottom half of the box
is lined in its original pale pink silk.
The condition is really good for its age, the push button opens and closes without any problems. The only thing to mention is that around
the edge of the pink silk lining, to the base of the box, the piping around the edge is missing and the pink silk is starting to fray. It is just
a matter of finding some suitable piping to put around the edge.
As mentioned the box is a little jewellery box but could be used for any precious keepsakes.
