A most unusual Victorian fabric-covered needlecase. This is undoubtedly an example of Victorian handiwork and certainly
a very unusual needlecase. The actual needlecase is made from thick card and this has been covered in finely woven
tapestry type fabric in pleasing rust and dark blue colours. The needlecase pulls apart and needles were stored within.
The needlecase measures just over 3.5" and is in good condition for its age, especially the fabric covering. The only thing
to mention is the inner section of the card that fits into the top section has worn a little ragged over time, it was originally
covered in a patterned paper remnants of which can still be seen. The needlecase still operates very well.
This is a very unusual sewing item, not only a needlecase but also an example of Victorian handicrafts.
