A charming collection of a Victorian shell pincushion, needlecase, a named lace bobbin and sample of lace.
The pincushion has been made using a shell and the pincushion area has some purple coloured velvet and there
is a little ribbon handle to the top. The shell is in good condition for its age and measures 2" long.
The little needlecase is an oblong shape made from black leather with an embossed gilt, red and yellow pattern to
the front. The two parts pull apart and the needles or needle packet are stored inside. The needlecase measures 2"
long and 1" wide.
The lace bobbin is made from bone (bovine) and has the name Dear Charles picked out in red dots. There are also
red and black bands to the top and bottom. It has some nice spangles to the end including a blue pumpkin bead and
a nice red and white top bead, two good square cut beads and a couple of others. The bobbin is in very good condition
for its age.
The little sample of lace is particularly beautiful and is probably a piece of Brussels lace. It dates to the 19th century
and maybe a little earlier. It is only a sample and measures 6" x 4". In nice condition and could be used on a favourite
doll or items for a dolls house.
A wonderful useful little collection of Victorian items for your workbox.
