A fine 19th-century needlecase in the form of an umbrella. It is made from bone (bovine) and has a few tiny fine black
specks that you find in bone (bovine) items. The handle unscrews and the needles are held in the umbrella section.
The needlecase is in excellent condition for its age and measures 4.5".
There is also a little gilt ring attached to the top of the handle. I was going to remove this at first but after further
examination found it to be quite unusual so I decided to leave it there. It has a minuscule little button that you would
have to press using a magnifier and tweezers so the other end would open. It has some age to it, probably the same age
as the needlecase, and is most unusual.
