These are a lovely pair of. handmade, Vintage plaster portrait sculpture figurines of Jamestown Settlers. They each stand on a wood base. He measures 15" top to bottom, she measures 14" top to bottom. Sewn to the lining, of his cape, is a handmade label with embroidered letters 1607 Jamestown. Sewn to the inside of her slip is the same type of label. I do not know when this pair was made; the labels, I am sure, are a description of who they are supposed to resemble. They each have a broken finger and their hands are somewhat fragile. Their paint does show wear and age. They each have molded painted hair and painted facial features, He has a molded painted mustache and beard. Their eye area has some mold to it but not quite intaglio. His boots are painted and molded-on and her shoes are also painted and molded. The buckle is molded. The paint does show rubs. They are each wearing Silk clothing with tatted Cotton collars and cuffs. The silk does show wear and fading. She wear a cotton slip and pantaloons with lace trim. His cape is lined. He is wearing a "Pilgrim Style hat" covered with a natural fur, probably rabbit, that shows wear. There is much detail to their clothes. He has a metal sword around his wrist I do not know their age and they are unsigned.
