This Antique, 10" Chinese Opera doll is in very nice condition. These dolls were used, quite often, as teaching tools.
Her head is highly gloss paint that feels like Porcelain but is probably highly gloss paint over Wood or Composition material. It is highly decorated with embossed painted hair and some additional beading. She is missing some beads and there is a hole where, I believe, maybe an additional hair ornament was. The body is hard and probably wood. Soft joints at the shoulder and elbow.
She has all of her Paper Mache fingers; she does have a crack at her left wrist. Her legs are wood with cloth covered shoes.
Her silk, embroidered costume and shoes are in lovely condition.
She is signed on her neck with an incised symbol and her costume has a Made in China stamp on the underside.
