To capitalize on the booming tile market, in 1845 Minton partnered with Michael Hollins to create a separate firm dedicated to manufacturing tiles. Producing exquisitely decorated and well-crafted tiles, Minton, Hollins & Co. soon became one of the leaders in the decorative tile market. The company displayed its products at exhibitions throughout the world, winning numerous gold medals along the way. Today, examples of Minton’s tile can be found in the United States Capitol building, both houses of Parliament, Lichfield Cathedral, and many other prestigious buildings.
