I've never see a hat like this in all my years of dealing with vintage clothing. I bought it out of an estate where most of the clothing was from the Victorian era. Although I think that this may be slightly newer. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be worn the way that I have photographed it or if the flaps should be turned up. It is made of leather covered with some kind of very short soft fur similar to rabbit. There are quite a few places where the fur has worn off especially around the edges. The inside circumference is 20". Any information anyone can give me will be welcomed!
