Here is a pair of never worn Victorian red suede gloves made in France. They are still attached together . They close at the inside forearm with three tiny white mother-of-pearl buttons. Stamped inside is Grande Medaille d'Or Paris 78, Splendide and Roth & Co. Cincinnati. I couldn't find any info on a store with this name. However I did find an advertising card that read Roth's Parisian Kid Glove Emporium from the 1880's or 1890's. Not sure if it is the same store or not. They are stamped inside with the size 5 1/2 which may be a French size. They are very narrow measuring 2" at the base of the thumb when buttoned. The length from the middle finger to the cuff is 15 1/8" The width at the cuff is 3 3/8". Even though they have never been worn there are some issues. The impression from the buttons on the inside of the glove is showing through to the back. There are some nicks on the suede near the cuff. There is also some fading. I attribute these flaws as to how the gloves were stored. No holes. They are showing up as a darker red in my photos but they are a lipstick red.
