This is a very interesting dress! I'm not sure if it is a costume or a dress for some kind of celebration. It looks to be home made. It is very straight and free form so it should fit a variety of sizes. I bought it from an estate where all of the other clothing was a size 12 or 14. There are no fabric content labels but I would say that it is some type of polyester material. The large navy blue and white flowers are surrounded by red sequins. The dress comes up high at the neck and has one long sleeve. On the other side there is just an armhole. On the left side is a 24" slit. The back of the neck is a little lower than the front and there is a 19" yellow invisible zipper down the back. The last photo shows a portion of the dress inside out. The length from the front of the neck down is 57". Around the middle is 56". There are some pulled threads around the sequins but I don't think that any of them are missing.
The hat is sort of a modified beret. Fabric is gathered together and sewn at the top of the crown. A 8" wide sash is folded over and tacked onto the side of the hat. It is lined with a red fabric and a 7/8" wide red grosgrain ribbon. The inside measurement is 20.50". Excellent condition.
