This is an older Japanese damascene necklace dating back to the 1920's. The fan shaped pieces consist of black matte metal is set into brass frames. Scenes of Japan are depicted with gold and silver metal inlays. The brass backs are etched with designs of Japanese flowers, a butterfly and a dragonfly. The clasp is oval shaped and is a tab in slot type which works well and is secure. The large center fan measures 1 3/8" X 1 1/8". The smaller ones 1" X 3/4". The length of the necklace is 16". There is slight wear on the brass parts.
