Luci Puci hats were created by Lucylle Smith Gilbert. She was known as Chicago's Queen of millinery designers during the 1950's and 60's. This hat was sold by the D.J. Healy Shop in Detroit. It is made of light gray velvet and has a 1.25" wide brim. Around the crown runs a 1.50" wide strip of pleated and woven light gray velvet. Covering the crown are shiny steel gray feathers covered with a fine burgundy netting. Slightly left of center is a steel gray feather a red feather and a tiny red and clear rhinestone piece. The crown is lined with a slightly stiff beige lace fabric. There is a comb on each side to hold the hat on the head. There are a few nicks on the velvet under the brim and an area on the underneath edge of the brim where the velvet has worn down. It is a size 22.
