This dress was designed by Jerry Parnis for Miss Martini in the late 1950's. Jerry was the sister of the well known designer Mollie Parnis. It was sold in a specialty shop during the 1950's in Shaker Heights, Ohio. There is no fabric content label on the dress but I would say that it is a wool crepe. It is lined with a cotton linen blend fabric. It has very interesting cut armholes. It is quite a straight style with the exception of the lower third of the dress which is softly pleated only on the front and the back, not the sides. I would say that it is a size 6. The flat measurements are Armpit to armpit 35", Waist 33", Hips 35", Length from back of neck 39.50" and Across back of shoulders 17.50". There is a 22" metal zipper down the back so the dress can be stepped into rather than put over the head. There is a hook and eye above the zipper. Excellent condition with no holes, tears, stains or fading.
