Keisuke Serizawa (1895-1983) is a designated Art Treasure Of Japan. He was a master of stencil dyeing and leader of the Japanese Mingei (Folk Art) movement. The stencils were used for dyeing kimonos, fabrics, screens, wall hangings, fans, scrolls, calendars and quilt covers. The title of this print is Jizai Kage-How They Cook In A Japanese Farmhouse. The stencil itself measures 4" X 5 3/4". The entire piece measures 8" X 10". It still has the original plastic covering over the front from when it was purchased.
